Securely store, manage, and protect your coins with Trezor hardware wallets, app & backup solutions.
Get your TrezorA hardware wallet is a physical device designed to securely store the private keys needed to access and manage your cryptocurrency. It keeps these keys offline (also known as "cold storage"), significantly reducing the risk of theft through online attacks. Trezor devices combine secure chips with a simple interface, allowing you to safely verify and approve transactions.
A hardware wallet stores your private keys on a secure chip isolated from the internet. When you want to send cryptocurrency, the transaction is sent to the device, displayed for your verification, and you physically confirm it by pressing buttons on the device. This process ensures that your private keys never leave the secure environment, even when connected to a compromised computer.
If you lose your Trezor device, your funds remain safe as long as you have your recovery phrase (also called a seed phrase). During setup, you write down a 12-24 word recovery phrase that can restore your wallet on a new device. Keep this recovery phrase in a secure location, separate from your device, and never share it with anyone. With this backup, you can recover your funds even if your device is lost, stolen, or damaged.
To transfer cryptocurrency to your Trezor device, you first need to set up the device and install the Trezor Suite software on your computer. Then, select which cryptocurrency you want to receive, generate an address through the Trezor Suite, and use this address as the destination when sending from your exchange or other wallet. The funds will be stored on the blockchain, accessible only with the private keys secured in your hardware wallet.
